Blanks 5UX

Fill in the words. Regret the story.

An example, filled in badly

The hire arrived at the offices of waterproof Holdings at nine sharp. The receptionist had an elbow where a smile should be and asked for a name, Nigel, which was written down wrong. The interviewer appeared wearing unnecessary shoes and carrying a ladder. “We need someone who can disappear,” they said, “and someone who will not ask what we make.” Asked how the role was going, they said it had been filled before it existed, which is the correct answer.

The form needs scripts. Without them, this is the whole app, and it is arguably enough.

About Blanks 5UX

Three stories, twelve words each, and no quality control. You supply the nouns; the story does the rest. Nothing is sent anywhere, nothing is saved, and the words disappear when you close the tab — which is the kindest thing that can happen to them. The rest of the family is that way.

How it works

Twelve prompts, then “Tell it”. Your words are marked in the story; leave one blank and a dull substitute appears instead. No page here uses the name of any published word game, and none of the three stories is borrowed.
